Couples Therapy

In person + virtual therapy in Washington state

You keep having the same fight. And you’re both exhausted.

Something keeps getting in the way of feeling close. You’ve tried everything you can think of but you still feel stuck.

You don’t need to do this alone anymore. I’m here to help.

I’m Sydni (she/her)

I’m a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, LGBTQIA+ affirming couples therapist providing therapy services in WA state.

I’ve seen couples from all kinds of backgrounds go from constant arguing, periods of withdrawal, and ongoing tension to laughing together again and finding ease in day to day life. And even crying tears of joy and relief from finally feeling truly known by each other.

I specialize in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT or EFCT) —one of the most researched approaches to couples work available, grounded in decades of attachment science. In our work together, you won’t just learn new communication tools. You’ll understand what’s actually happening between you, and find your way back to each other.

To be human is to need others, and this is no flaw or weakness.

Emotionally Focused Therapy

An evidenced-based treatment approach utilizing attachment science. It results in lasting changes for couples seeking to improve their relationship.

Gottman Research-Informed Therapy

In my work with couples, I bring a strong awareness of research on long term relationships—what makes them last, as well as common pitfalls.

Experiential Approach to Therapy

We can’t expect you to just magically implement communication tools—these break under pressure. Instead, you’ll learn how to work with blocks and triggers in real time.

“The quality of our relationships determines the quality of our lives.” - Esther Perel

I believe in this work in part because I've seen my share of pain in this life — and have personally experienced the profound healing that comes from feeling truly known by another person.

I know what it's like to wonder if someone can hold the complexity of your story. For couples, that question lives in both directions at once: can my partner really know me, and can I really know them? Therapy becomes the place where you practice exactly that — and where something genuinely different becomes possible.

The research is clear: couples who engage in EFT don't just have better weeks. They come to understand each other in a fundamentally new way. The cycle that's been pulling you apart loses its grip. The relationship itself becomes a source of safety rather than stress.

If any of that resonates, I’d love to connect.
